Ingredients

Marinade
  • 1 pound beef, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Stir-Fry
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the thinly sliced beef in a bowl with the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Toss to coat and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Warm 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, then transfer the beef out of the pan.
  2. Pour the remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil into the same pan. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the broccoli florets and a splash of water. Cover the pan and steam for 2-3 minutes, until the broccoli is tender.
  4. Put the browned beef back into the pan and toss it with the broccoli and garlic. Season with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.

Notes

Slice the beef against the grain for more tender pieces; serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
